Alix Dorleus is a painter from the Artibonite region in central Haiti. Most painters from this area emulate the style of the masterpainter of Deschapelles, Saincilus Ismael. The style is easily identified by the byzantine detail involved in dressing the people in the paintings. Every shirt, skirt, dress and pair of pants is painted with a different, intricate pattern.
