This painting was exhibited in Nottingham, England beginning in October 2012. and is illustrated in the show catalog. Kafou: Haiti, Art and Vodou

The winged creature on the column behind Christophe is his spirit of power. His serpent's tail symbolizs the division that existed in Haiti at that time with Andre Petion holding power in the South.
Christophe is being crowned by Corneil Bresil. He in turn is crowning Princess Athenais.
The monkey who is sitting on the train of Princess Athenais is her spirit of power.
