This is Room 49B. Haitian paintings by Hilome Jose

Hilome Jose was born in 1947 in the town of Jeremie on the southwestern tip pf Haiti. the "Town of Poets".
He moved to Port-au- Prince in the late 1960's and worked as a carpenter.
Through a mutual friend he made the acquaintance of the Haitian master Calixe Henry and began to paint.
He is a journeyman knife painter with a distinctive style.
