Jean-Baptiste was born in Port Marigot in the north of Haiti and painted for years in the downstairs atelier of the Galerie Issa. His paintings often contain whimsical details such as the woman throwing rice in this wedding painting. His paintings are rare. He died in 1979. He was the older brother of Seymour Bottex. |
